(Bloomberg) — Fred Guttenberg’s daughter was murdered in a 2018 mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida. Since then, he’s become a prominent opponent of the gun industry, its lobby and the lawmakers it funnels money too. As the drumbeat of gun-fueled killings across America continues to accelerate, Guttenberg has loudly called out members of Congress and other politicians for a lack of action, saying they have “blood on their hands.”
Guttenberg joined Emma Barnett meets… to discuss the lack of gun regulation in America, where a Republican-appointed supermajority of the Supreme Court has continued to expand gun rights, and how his daughter’s death prompted him to take a stand against gun violence.
“I blame everybody who’s a part of building that system, whether it’s the Supreme Court decision, whether it’s all the legislators who failed to do anything to prevent this explosion of weapons on our streets,” Guttenberg tells Barnett. “I blame them all.”
