South Korea promises strong support to exporters

SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s finance minister said on Thursday the government would provide a broad range of support to exporters soon after official data showed the economy shrank for the first time in 2-1/2 years in the final quarter of 2022.

Minister Choo Kyung-ho also said at a news conference the government would allocate as much of the budget spending plans as possible to the early part of the year, while saying the economy would return to growth in the first quarter.
