One of injured children in French knife attack was British, says UK’s Cleverly

PARIS/LONDON (Reuters) -A British national was among the children injured in a knife attack in the French town of Annecy on Thursday, British foreign minister James Cleverly said.

“One of the .. children injured was a British national. We have already deployed British consular officials to … support the family,” Cleverly said at an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) press conference in Paris.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and the families and we stand ready to support the French authorities in whichever way we can.”

Police in France arrested a Syrian national who they said had wounded four young children and an adult in a park in the southeastern French town on Thursday. Some of the victims were in critical condition.
