GDANSK (Reuters) – CD Projekt’s chief strategy officer and former CEO Adam Kicinski will step down from the Polish video game maker’s management board at the end of 2024 and confirmed his plans to run for the supervisory board, the company said late on Thursday.
“I believe that my 30 years’ worth of experience at CD Projekt, along with thorough knowledge of the Group’s development strategy and familiarity with challenges and opportunities facing the Group, may be of use in this new role,” Kicinski said in a letter published with the statement.
He added that in this role, he would be able to support the management board in guiding the group and contributing to its long-term success.
Kicinski has been with CD Projekt almost since its inception in 1994 and served as its CEO between 2010 and 2023, before taking the post of chief strategy officer at the beginning of this year.
Four out of five members of the supervisory board have also resigned from their positions effective Dec. 31.
CD Projekt said they were doing this due to a planned law aiming to have a 33% gender parity in supervisory boards, and to enable shareholders to appoint additional independent members into the board.
The chairman of the supervisory board and the company’s shareholder, Marcin Iwinski, has filed a motion to convene an extraordinary general meeting to vote on new candidates for the supervisory board, CD Projekt said.
