PJT Hires Credit Suisse Veteran Ernie Ruehl for Semiconductor Deals

PJT Partners Inc. has hired Ernie Ruehl, a more than two-decade veteran of Credit Suisse, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

(Bloomberg) — PJT Partners Inc. has hired Ernie Ruehl, a more than two-decade veteran of Credit Suisse, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Ruehl, who specializes in advising chipmakers, is set to join the Paul Taubman-led firm in the coming months, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information. Earlier this month, Ruehl was named one of the 12 Credit Suisse bankers retained by UBS Group AG to help lead its Americas business following the rival firm’s merger.

Ruehl is based in San Francisco, and has worked at Credit Suisse since 2002, according to Finra records. While at Credit Suisse, he advised on Marvell Technology Inc.’s sale of its Wi-Fi connectivity business to NXP Semiconductors and the initial public offering of GlobalFoundries Inc. During Ruehl’s tenure, the bank also advised on transactions including Analog Devices’ purchase of Linear Technology and NXP’s acquisition of Freescale Semiconductor.

A representative for PJT didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. A UBS spokesperson declined to comment.
