(Bloomberg) — The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region reported a “large number” of drone attacks overnight, causing damage to buildings, though he said most were intercepted by air defenses.
Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram account that repairs to gas, electricity and water services were taking place following the border incursion by attackers who crossed from Ukraine. More than 550 people were in temporary accommodation after being evacuated from their homes during the fighting.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin told China’s premier that bilateral relations are stronger than ever, as Moscow looks to Beijing to help it withstand the economic pressure of US-led sanctions. “Today, relations between Russia and China are at an unprecedented high level,” Mishustin told Premier Li Qiang in Beijing on Wednesday.
Ukraine’s military intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, told Japanese broadcaster NHK that Ukraine already has enough weapon to begin the counteroffensive, according to the military intelligence website. However significant stockpiles are needed to continue the counteroffensive operation.
